How to Make Healthy Ice Cream


I know what you’re thinking, “Ugh. Not ANOTHER ‘healthy’ recipe that tastes nothing like the real thing.”

I’m not gonna lie, this recipe doesn’t come even CLOSE to Ben & Jerry’s or your favorite brand of chocolate chip cookie dough. But if you’re seriously considering healthier alternatives to your favorite, creamy, mouth-watering ice cream, you should definitely try this out.

Who knew bananas are surprisingly good at imitating the texture and taste of regular ice cream?? The first time I made this, it blew my mind. If you’re not the patient type (*cough* me), the only annoying thing you have to worry about is waiting until the bananas are ripe and completely frozen.

Jae was also extremely surprised at how well these turned out (this means a lot coming from one of the most experienced foodie I know). All you need are these ingredients:

  • Ripe and frozen bananas
  • Vanilla extract
  • Cacao nibs

Some helpful tips:

  • Add in some medjool dates for additional sweetness
  • Don’t let your bananas get TOO ripe if you don’t want a strong banana taste in your ice cream
  • Add in cacao powder for a chocolate flavor
  • Blend until the bananas a completely smooth and creamy (no frozen chunks left behind)

Instant Pot.

How amazing is it that we can now have an amazing meal after two hours of just doing NOTHING? You can spend that time reading, watching reruns of The Office, walking your dog, or even participating in that yoga class you’ve always wanted to attend. Now you don’t have to focus all of your energy to the kitchen, praying you don’t burn down the house. You have better things to do.

This is why I’m in love with my Instant Pot. It never wastes my time, finishes what it promises, and is ALWAYS dependable. Who doesn’t want a best friend like that? If you’re a meat-lover, you can have fall-off-the-bone, super tender, and juicy meat in half the time you used to need!

Jae and I were hungry af and decided to throw this together for an amazing dinner. We were so delighted to find out our Instant Pot worked it’s magic on these short ribs. Here’s what you need to do to have the best short ribs of your life.


  • 8 short ribs
  • 1 white onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 2 cups of Brussel sprouts
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • A container of thyme
  • Red wine


  1. Sauté the onion and garlic in olive oil for about 10 minutes
  2. Place the cooked onion and garlic in a different pot
  3. Place ribs into the same pan and brown it on all sides
  4. Flip the ribs bone down
  5. Cover the ribs in red wine and reduce with pan cover on
  6. While the red wine is reducing, sauté the Brussel sprouts for 10 minutes
  7. Place all ingredients into your Instant Pot (ribs first)
  8. Cook for 35 minutes (on manual), high pressure and let it natural release (~40 minutes)

Is Gaming Healthy for a Relationship?

We have no idea, but we gave it a try anyways.

A little background– I have no prior experience in the gaming world but Jae actually went semi-pro during his high school days (pretty sick). Anyways, Jae and I ran out of things to do last night so we aimlessly wandered around Youtube until we started binge-watching a plethora of gaming videos.

We were glued to the screen as we laughed at gamers screaming, teetering at the edge of their seat, and rejoicing as they accomplished their game objectives.

And then Jae had a brilliant idea.

Why not channel our own competitive gamer personality by GETTING TRIGGERED AT 12 AM?? And that’s exactly what we did. In hindsight, it was probably wiser to go to sleep and get ready for a bright, early day…but what’s life without spontaneous game nights?

I want to introduce you guys to the most simple yet frustrating game we’ve ever played: Getting Over It by Bennett Foddy. You’ll understand why.

How to Stay Productive In a Relationship

Episode One

Happy new year, everyone!

Hopefully, you guys are working hard to achieve your new year’s goals. Jae and I have been thinking of ways to maintain a healthy relationship this upcoming year, so we thought it’d be cool to talk about how to resolve common problems that young couples face.

The last four months were exciting, sweet, chaotic, and filled with laughter…but as much as we love spontaneity, it’s time to find some balance. It’s not easy to practice discipline when you’re having so much fun, but it’s definitely a key factor to long term happiness and productivity with your partner.

The main habit we’re trying to solidify is waking up early. How amazing would it be to read your favorite book, drink a cup of delicious coffee, exercise (#winterbody), eat breakfast, cross off some important items on your to-do list AND talk to your boyfriend/girlfriend in the morning?? You won’t have to rush out to your 9-5:00 job (or school) and you will feel more accomplished throughout the day. But of course, to set yourself up to succeed, you need to practice another habit: sleeping early.

The biggest downfall to our goal has been sticking with our bedtime. Time after time, Jae and I catch ourselves drinking wine at 10:00 pm, staying up late to finish work, scrolling through useless FB/IG feed, and being distracted in general. This month, we are working towards replacing these habits with better ones to find some balance in our lives.

It’s already the second month of 2018 so let’s continue to work on our passions, meet new friends, make some money, and do things that make us happy (aka have an occasional wine night hehe) 🙂 See you guys next episode!
